Inclusion Criteria:
High-normal diastolic BP, overweight and/or rapid resting pulse.
Exclusion Criteria:
Those least likely to cooperate with recommended life-style changes, major electrocardiographic abnormalities, history or findings of major cardiovascular disease, diabetes, life-limiting conditions, on special diet, contraceptive pill use.
Research Purpose:
To assess whether a program to improve these aspects of life-style resulted in a lower incidence of hypertension and a lower BP in the inervention compared with the control group.
