Inclusion Criteria:
The participants for this study included hospitalized patients aged >/=60 years, who were confirmed as malnourished by a qualified dietitian using PG-SGA tool.
Exclusion Criteria:
Patients were excluded if they were receiving palliative care, residing in rural areas, or were of indigenous origin or were non-English speaking. Rural, indigenous and non-English speaking subjects were excluded due to lack of funds to travel to rural areas for assessments and seek services of an Indigenous liaison officer/interpreter.
Research Purpose:
The main objectives in this trial was to examine whether such an intervention could improve nutritional status and quality of care by reducing adverse clinical outcomes and optimizing use of existing resources.
