Inclusion Criteria:
Adult cancer patients receiving non-surgical cancer treatments.
Exclusion Criteria:
Adult cancer patients receiving either chemotherapy or radiotherapy combined with surgical cancer treatment such as bowel or esophageal resections. For the purpose of this review, a care pathway was defined as “a complex intervention for the mutual decision-making and organization of care processed for a well-defined group of patients during a well-defined period”. Studies where the implementation of a nutrition care pathway was compared with traditional management approaches were eligible.
Research Purpose:
We aimed to systematically review published original research to determine whether evidence-based nutrition clinical care pathways, as compared with usual care, improve outcomes for patients receiving non-surgical cancer treatment.
