Intervention
What is the effect of calcium intake on electrolyte levels in adults with CKD 1-5D and post-transplant?
- Conclusion
  In CKD pre-dialysis patients, greater oral calcium intake was associated with positive calcium balances in two studies, while one study did not observe any significant effects on ionized calcium levels. Serum calcium and phosphorus levels were unaffected by increased calcium intake, and effects on vitamin D and parathyroid hormone status showed conflicting results.
